TECHNICAL DIRECTOR
ORANGE HUB THEATRE

Overview

​

We are seeking a skilled and versatile Technical Director to join our team at The Orange Hub Theatres. The TD will be the primary team member responsible for providing technical support for all performances and events, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of audio, lighting, and other technical equipment, and maintaining the overall functionality and appearance of the performance spaces, as well as training and overseeing a team of technicians.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

​

Responsibilities:

  • Technical Theatre Management, serving as the primary technical liaison between the venue and the producers.

  • Technical Team Leadership, to recruit, hire, and supervise technical staff.

  • Venue Maintenance, conducting regular inspections and maintenance checks of technical equipment.

  • Safety and Compliance, ensuring that all technical operations comply with health and safety regulations and industry best practices.

  • Collaboration and Communication, with production teams, venue staff, and external vendors.

  • Budgeting and Financial Management for the budget of technical elements, including labor, materials, maintenance, and upgrades.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Technical Theatre, Theatre Production, or related field (preferred).

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in technical theatre, live event production, or venue operations, with demonstrated expertise in scenery construction, lighting design, sound reinforcement, and stagecraft.

  • Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to plan, organize, and execute complex technical productions on time and within budget.

  • Proficiency in industry-standard software and hardware platforms, such as AutoCAD, Vectorworks, ETC lighting consoles, and digital audio consoles, with the ability to program and troubleshoot technical systems.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders to achieve common goals and deliver high-quality productions.

Schedule/Wage:

  • $28/hour

  • Available for evenings and weekends, hours dependent on theatre bookings

CONCESSION SUPERVISOR

Overview

We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Concession Supervisor to oversee the operations of the concession stand at The Orange Hub Theatres. The Concession Supervisor will be responsible for managing concession staff, ensuring the efficient and hygienic preparation of food and beverages, providing exceptional customer service to patrons, and will be the primary team member responsible for providing concession support for all performances and events.

Responsibilities:

  • Concession Operations Management as the lead Concession member, present for each event or scheduling an alternative supervisor, managing stock and maintaining the working condition of the concession.

  • Work with the Operations Manager to open the new venue, responsible for setting up the work space and developing operational procedures.

  • Customer Service Excellence, serving as a point of contact for patrons, and monitoring customer feedback and satisfaction levels.

  • Staff Management and Training, recruiting, hiring, training and scheduling concession staff.

  • Financial Reporting and Reconciliation, overseeing the daily reconciliation of cash registers, monitoring inventory levels, and assisting with the preparation of annual budget forecasts.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required); Bachelor's degree or diploma in Hospitality Management or related field (preferred).

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in food service, hospitality, or retail, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role.

  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team of diverse individuals to achieve common goals.

  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations, with certification in food handling and sanitation (e.g., ServSafe) preferred.

  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Commitment to providing outstanding customer service and creating positive experiences for patrons, with a passion for the arts and a dedication to promoting accessibility and inclusion.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Box Office and Front of House Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations of the box office at The Orange Hub Theatres. The Box Office Supervisor will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and effective sale of tickets, providing exceptional customer service to patrons, managing box office staff, and will be the primary team member responsible for providing FOH  support for all performances and events

  • Proficiency in ticketing software systems, such as Ticketmaster, Tessitura, or PatronManager, with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues and train others on system functionality.

  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Overview

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Associate Producer to join our team and play a crucial role in the planning, execution, and management of our improv and variety productions and our corporate entertainment. The Associate Producer will work closely with the Artistic Director and other team members to oversee marketing, sales, sponsorship, contracts, and all general management responsibilities to ensure the success of each performance.

  • Proven track record of securing sponsorships, donations, or grants for arts organizations or nonprofit institutions.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills.

  • Experience drafting and reviewing contract agreements.

  • Passion for theatre and the arts, with a commitment to supporting and promoting creative expression.

  • Experience setting up sound equipment and running audio for corporate gigs

 

POSITION DETAILS

Schedule/Wage:

  • $17.50/hour

  • Potential additional income through Corporate Bookings

  • 24 hours per week (11-5pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday)

  • NOTE: This role will have the opportunity to grow both in hours and wage depending on the growth of the department and reaching targeted goals. 

​

*Ideally this position would be able to run audio and take the additional technical fees for all corporate bookings.

Grindstone Theatre Society is seeking a Fund Development Manager with a focus on Sponsorship to join our team. This critical role is responsible for identifying, cultivating, and securing sponsorships from corporate and individual partners who are passionate about supporting the arts and our mission. The Fund Development Manager will play a vital role in helping the organization meet its financial goals and continue its mission of enriching the community through the performing arts.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

Responsibilities:

 

  • Sponsorship Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive sponsorship strategy to support Grindstone Theatre Society's programs and events.

  • Prospect Identification: Identify potential corporate and individual sponsors that align with our organization's values and objectives.

  • Cultivation and Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with sponsors, providing ongoing communication, recognition, and engagement opportunities.

  • Proposal Development: Create compelling sponsorship proposals tailored to the unique needs and interests of potential sponsors.

  • Sponsorship Acquisition: Lead the solicitation and negotiation process to secure financial and in-kind sponsorship agreements.

  • Stewardship: Ensure sponsors receive the agreed-upon benefits, acknowledgment, and recognition, and provide regular updates on the impact of their support.

  • Budget Management: Monitor and report on the sponsorship budget, ensuring alignment with the organization's financial goals.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Marketing and Events teams to integrate sponsorship recognition into promotional materials, events, and performances.

  • Data Management: Maintain accurate records of sponsorship interactions, commitments, and fulfillment.

  • Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards for sponsorship agreements, and provide regular reports to the Executive Director and Board of Directors on sponsorship activities and outcomes.

Qualifications:

​

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Proven experience in sponsorship development, preferably in the non-profit or arts sector.

  • Strong understanding of corporate and individual giving trends and best practices.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite / Google Docs

  • Strong organizational and project management skills.

  • A passion for the arts and a commitment to the mission of Grindstone Theatre Society.

  • Must be available some nights & weekends for shows and special events.
